Warrington is the practical answer for a lot of people reporting to the southwest side, and the reasoning is mostly about geography rather than the neighborhood itself.
What it offers
It keeps you on the same side of town as work. For anyone at Naval Hospital Pensacola or the southwest installations, that removes a cross-town drive twice a day, and that is a bigger quality-of-life difference than most listing features.
The trade-off
Highway 98 and west Pensacola traffic are their own thing. If you have commuted elsewhere in Pensacola, or you are taking advice from someone who works at a different hospital, be careful: what they know does not transfer.
The area is further from downtown and from the eastern beaches than the central neighborhoods, and it is a different setting from the established close-in areas.
What to check before you commit
Confirm where you will actually be working first. The wider military medical system includes branch clinics and different reporting locations, and choosing a house around the main hospital when you will report elsewhere is expensive to undo. Get the answer in writing before you narrow the search.
Then the usual: drive it at your real hour in both directions, flood zone determination on the specific property, roof and systems age for the insurance conversation, and school zoning direct from the district.

It is one of the areas that keeps you on the same side of town as the hospital, along with west Pensacola, Navy Point, and areas toward Perdido. That matters more here than at the other facilities, because the geography does not forgive a bad choice.
Why does the commute matter more on the southwest side?
Highway 98 and west Pensacola traffic behave differently from I-110 or Ninth Avenue traffic, so experience commuting elsewhere in Pensacola does not transfer. Living further east or northeast makes this commute considerably more significant than people expect from a map.
