The short version
I got my Florida real estate license in 2020 and sold homes on a top producing team from my first year. Then I went to nursing school, and for a while the emergency department took everything I had. I never actually left real estate. I came back to it with a completely different set of instincts.
Both jobs are the same job, if you look at them honestly. Somebody is having one of the more stressful days of their life. Several things need attention and they do not all matter equally. Your job is to know which one matters first, to read the documentation carefully enough to catch the thing everyone else skimmed past, and to advocate for one person in a room full of people with competing interests.
Why relocation, and why these two groups
Because I understand both timelines from the inside. I know what it is to have a start date you did not choose. I know what a 6:45am commute costs you when you are working twelves, because I drive it. And Pensacola runs on two engines, the military and the hospitals, so these are not niche audiences here. They are the town.
I also speak French and Italian, hold French, Italian, and US citizenship, and grew up moving between countries. Relocating somebody who is arriving from a long way away and knows nobody is not an abstraction for me.
How I actually work
- You deal with me. Not an assistant, not a team member you have not met.
- Video walkthroughs of everything, so buying from out of state is not a handicap.
- I will tell you when a house is wrong for you, including when it costs me the sale.
- I stay in my lane. Lending questions go to a lender, insurance to an insurance agent, tax to a CPA. I will tell you who to ask and what to ask them.
Outside of it
Six rescue cats, an unreasonable pickleball habit, and an ongoing project to convince people that Pensacola is more interesting than the beach photos suggest. Most of that ends up on @pensacolawithhelena.
